In
celebration of the national holidays (the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah
II bin Al Hussein, the Silver Jubilee, and the Royal Sitting Day), the Aqaba
Youth Directorate and the Jordan Chess Team are proud to collaborate with
Prince Hamzah Club, under the patronage and support of the Aqaba Special
Economic Zone Authority/Youth and Entrepreneurship Commission, in coordination
with the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation and its Southern Committee, to
organize the " BIRTH OF THE MASTER OF THE COUNTRY RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT
OPEN Chess Tournament.

February 29, 2024, and Friday, March 1, 2024

Location: Prince Hamzah Club, Aqaba
🕒
Time: Thursday at 5:00 PM for (4) rounds, Friday at 2:00 PM for (5)
rounds, followed by the crowning of winners.
Tournament Instructions:
- Open to all players, with the first 200 registered
participants accepted.
- The tournament consists of (9) rounds.
- Swiss system, with (10) minutes per player plus (5)
seconds increment per move.
- Officiated by the referees of the Royal Jordanian
Chess Federation.

or (0772757018) to Captain Essam Al-Sharoush for those with an (ID)
number, or those without, send an ID or birth certificate to (0772757018)
to obtain an (ID).

- Deadline for registration is Tuesday, February 27,
2024, at 9:00 PM.
- Tie-break criteria:
- a. Head-to-head result.
- b. Number of wins.
- c. Number of wins with Black.
- d. Buchholz.
- e. Sonneborn-Berger.
- f. A win by "BYE" is a real point for
all tie-break criteria.
- An Appeals Committee will be formed before the
start of the first round.
- Players are not allowed to leave the playing hall.
- Electronic devices are permitted during the rounds;
any player found with an electronic device will be forfeited.
- International laws and regulations of the
International Chess Federation apply unless stated otherwise.
- Tournament Prizes:
- a. 1st Place: (400) JD + Championship Cup
- b. 2nd Place: (300) JD + Silver Medal
- c. 3rd Place: (200) JD + Bronze Medal
- d. 4th Place: (100) JD
- e. 5th Place: (100) JD
- f. 6th Place: (100) JD
- g. Best Female Player in Aqaba Governorate: (50) JD
- h. Best Male Player in Aqaba Governorate: (50) JD
- i. Youngest Female Participant: (50) JD
- j. Youngest Male Participant: (50) JD
Administrative Instructions:
- Registration fee per player is (10) JD, payable
upon registration.
- Lunch will be provided on Friday for all
participating players.
- Accommodation available for participants through
booking at Aqaba Youth Hostel for (5) JD per bed per night.
